Curriculum Overview:
-
Module 1 - Foundations of a Health, Mental Health and Well-being Strategy
The bit everyone seems to miss. Setting clear foundations, definitions, principles and guidelines for workplace health, mental health and wellbeing. In this module we discuss what these are and build our foundations for the course and for building any occupational health strategy. We look at what different types of Frameworks and Best Practice International Standards there are.
Amy introduces her own Framework and we discuss the positives and negatives of different approaches helping decision making and building clear and strong foundations for a strategy or programmes.
-
Module 2 - Governance Frameworks and Stakeholder Management including Board Advisory
Workplace Health, Mental Health and Wellbeing is a multidisciplinary beast. Creating and implementing an impactful strategy means bring together people working in totally different roles and parts of an organisation. In this module we discuss being this bridge, Stakeholder Mapping and Management and building a Governance Framework including the creation of Well-being Working Groups.
Doing Workplace Health Right also means getting Boards and Senior Stakeholders on board and is now what Amy spends most of her time doing. Amy shares how she does this, what she says to Boards and tips for converting even the most sceptical.
-
Module 3 - The Basics of Implementing a Workplace Health Strategy or Programme
Creating a workplace health, mental health and wellbeing strategy or programme is one thing. Making changes to the health and work lives of employees is another altogether. We look at what Implementation actually means (as a clue it isn’t sticking a policy on an intranet and hoping for the best).
In this module we start with the basics. What we need to do to create change. Creating a Brand, name and identify for organisational work around health and mental health. Embedding health and mental health into organisation wide job roles and responsibilities, Learning and Development and training curriculum. Including Care Pathways, Governance and Boundaries
-
Module 4 - Implementation - Building Internal Structures
We continue working on different ways of implementing workplace health, mental health and wellbeing into an organisation. In this module we cover a variety of tactics including, use of policies, use of Mental Health First Aid, creating Employee Networks and serving different demographics. We also discuss how to embed into the organisation’s ‘Performance Management’ or measurement systems.
-
Module 5 - Using Health Providers Effectively and Building Care Pathways
Knowing what Health, Mental Health and Wellbeing providers to buy and how to ensure employees use them is one of the most common issues that organisations have. With thousands of new providers on the market each year this problem is only going to get worse. In this module we cover everything health provider related; auditing existing providers, building and implementing Care Pathways and using provider reports and making data informed decisions. Making sure you procure wisely.
We specifically cover Occupational Health as this is most commonly the provider least understood or used well. Thoughtfully procuring and creating an effective Occupational Health Care Pathway (embedded into roles and responsibilities) can be game changing for organisations to manage and reduce absence. This on its own can often provide the Return on Investment for a health and mental health strategy.
-
Module 6 - Data, Measuring Your Strategy and determining Value On Investment
Measuring and showing the impact and value of a health, mental health and wellbeing strategy is rarely done well. It is hard but important to do.
In this module we discuss different ways of doing this. We discuss baselining and data collection, analysing and choosing Key Performance Indicators, creating a ‘Dashboard’, and making data informed decisions. We look at measurement frameworks and how to calculate Return and Value On Investment.
‘‘A much needed course which every workplace health and wellbeing advocate should take. There will be something to learn, guaranteed .
Amy's knowledge and experience is priceless and is well worth the investment’’

Using the ‘Power of Technology’
Do Workplace Health Right is consciously and deliberately an online programme. Delivering this way uses the ‘power of technology’ to:
Connect - We use calls, the chat and breakouts to offer participant interaction throughout the 3 month period
Build a Global Community - Previous attendees have come from the UK, Europe, South Africa, Dubai, Saudi Arabia…
Engage with and speak to Guest Experts - An opportunity to engage directly with and ask questions to Guest Experts. Unlike conferences and shorter face to face courses we offer interaction
Flexibility - Attend as part of your work day, from your desk (or even bed)
Access to Recordings - We’d prefer it if you attended live but if you can’t for any reason then you get access to recordings of all lessons and guest sessions for 1 year after the course finishes. Watch as many times as you like.
LinkedIn Group - There will be a private LinkedIn group running alongside the 3 month programme for participants to ask questions, share ideas and get support.
‘‘Amy's extensive knowledge and experience, coupled with her practical approach, truly set her apart. She expertly translated complex concepts into practical approaches, making the learning experience highly valuable and applicable.

FAQs
-
A few years ago I noticed in my work that many of the people I was working with came from one background, or a ‘passion’ for health, mental health and wellbeing. Many had got there by pivoting from other roles and were 'learning on the job'. I saw a big skills gap, especially with strategic thinking.
What was missing was training in or understanding of all the different multidimensional aspects of health, mental health, and wellbeing strategies required to do it properly.
In 2023 I created ‘Do Workplace Health Right’ and ran it 3 times to fully test the content. It was designed to be a really practical, 'how to' course that will tackles the issues I see on a day to day basis and to give a thorough and strategic understanding of all aspects of health, mental health and wellbeing.
‘Do Workplace Health Right’ Live is the next iteration of this. Tested content built into a 3 month programme to fully nurture and support as well as educate those working in any aspect of workplace or occupational health, mental health or wellbeing. Collaborative, global, interactive and practical. This is a unique programme.
I have also created an eLearning of ‘Do Workplace Health Right’ for people who want a more accessible and affordable, self study version of the test core programme content.

Yes, you can book a call with Amy by booking HERE
-
Yes you can pay for 'Do Workplace Health' Live in 12 payments of £299 per month.
-
I am anticipating the calls will take place at 12pm or 1pm UK time. This will be confirmed and agreed later when we know where the majority of people are joining from. We can flex to support those in different time zones.
-
The 6 core modules of the course are fixed and are tested content. The beauty of a 3 month programme is that we have time and space to add other calls, discussion topics or invite other guest experts if burning topics of interest or areas to be developed further come up.
-
No. All are welcome and will benefit.
Some of Amy’s clients have been organisations employing 10 people or less. Independent consultants have also benefited from previous versions of ‘Do Workplace Health Right’. The wider the variety of participants, the broader the experience and the discussion.

Until the end of 2025

This is designed to be a 3 month community experience. A blend of learning, content, discussion, coaching and growth. Taught and held by a global expert. It’s more than a conference or a course. It is a programme with learning, access and interaction with global experts, and a community to support and nurture you.
-
We are currently in the process of getting CPD accreditation for the taught module content. We can’t promise but are aiming that this is in place by the time we kick off in January 2025.
We understand that employers look for CPD Accredited courses when approving training budgets. Our aim is that ‘Do Workplace Health Right’ Live 2025 is a practical programme for skill development and competence enhancement, and by supporting and upskilling those working in wellbeing, their entire organisation will benefit.
-
Time commitment is a couple of hours a week. If you miss the live call you can catch up any time (and have a year to access the recordings).
We have tried to make the programme as affordable as possible with payment plans, an ability for an organisation to invoice us and bank transfers. If it is still out of reach then there will always be next year, an eLearning version (available from January) or consider a mentoring session.
Amy is also paying an appreciation fee of 30% for any recommendations that also sign up. If you can get 3 friends to join you, then your programme fee is effectively paid for 🙂

Fiona Macintosh - Organisational Wellbeing & Team Development
I am thrilled to share my testimonial for Amy, who has been instrumental in enhancing my expertise in the field of employee wellbeing.
As a specialist in optimising people performance within organisations, I had previously undergone training in mental health and wellbeing. While these courses provided valuable learnings, they lacked the practical dimension required for developing effective organisational wellbeing strategies, so I sought Amy’s expertise.
Amy's extensive knowledge and experience, coupled with her practical approach, truly set her apart. Her deep understanding of the underpinning theory surrounding health, mental health and wellbeing was evident throughout the course. She expertly translated complex concepts into practical approaches, making the learning experience highly valuable and applicable.
The specific reason why Amy's course stood out was her ability to provide clear, no-nonsense advice for developing a robust wellbeing strategy. Her sensible approach enabled me to grasp the essential elements of creating a comprehensive plan that caters to the unique needs of individuals and organisations.
Since completing the course, I have gained the confidence to provide practical guidance to my clients in implementing effective wellbeing strategies.
Amy's teachings have equipped me with the necessary tools and resources to navigate the ever-evolving landscape of employee mental health and wellbeing.
I wholeheartedly recommend Amy’s course to anyone seeking to expand their knowledge and practical skills in the field of organisational wellbeing.
Her expertise, passion, and ability to deliver practical guidance have been invaluable to my professional growth and the success of my clients.

Sarah Restall - Workplace Culture Change Specialist
This summer I had the pleasure of attending Amy McKeown's course, Do Workplace Health Right and I am so pleased I did.
Right from the get-go, this is a fast-paced and information-rich experience. Set out in a linear strategic narrative, Amy takes you through exactly how to run a successful workplace health strategy from inception to embedding.
Amy has a warm and enthusiastic delivery style and welcomes questions and opinions throughout - no subject is off limits, and no commentary or exchange is unwelcome.
With insights on how to begin, who to involve, what data you can collect, and a deep dive into health providers, we even had a bonus session exploring the ISO 45003 with guest speaker Peter Kelly.
I have been working in workplace wellbeing for over a decade and have worked with hundreds of organisations to support their strategies, I thought I knew a lot and yet I found myself busily scribbling notes and keen to look back at content on the learning platform.
If you are in a role where health and wellbeing are in your remit, or if that is the sort of role you would like to do, I recommend this course for you.

I was really pleased to take Amy's 'Do Workplace Health Right' course as it is packed full with insights, experience and learnings.
Amy shares her twenty years knowledge of the industry with practical and relevant examples of past initiatives and interventions, which can be used as a platform for a corporate wellbeing department.
Amy allows for discussions on real life situations from participants with practical advice and learnings.
Advice and learnings that are organisationally focused and support dealing with root cause and primary aspects.
This course offers a refreshing alternative to the individualised and mostly ineffective offers in today's market and would suit Chief Wellbeing Officers, Wellbeing Managers, Occupational Health Therapists and those serious about making an impact in the wellbeing of their workforce.
I learned a lot from Amy and really feel there is a need for such a course.
I would and certainly recommend snapping up a place on the course if you can, it's excellent value and the way forward.

A much needed course which every workplace health and wellbeing advocate should take. There will be something to learn, guaranteed .
Amy's knowledge and experience is priceless and is well worth the investment.
With some specific and effective examples, Amy teaches a practical aspect which can be used as a foundation to strategies, frameworks and relationships with external suppliers.
Throughout the course, the group came together to share their thoughts and experiences and how they could implement learnings into their organisation.
There is something for everyone and an ideal opportunity to learn from others with experience in the industry.

Georgie Payne, Director and Coach - Time For The Mind
This is one of the best courses I have ever done; Amy's experience and knowledge of the health, mental health and wellbeing sector is immense and thorough.
It takes you through acres of realistic and practical strategy information and tried and tested 'how toos'.
The input from all the other (global) professionals in the industry was amazing as well. I can't recommend this course highly enough.

Anonymous (Director of Operations)
Prior to starting this course I had followed Amy for some time on LinkedIn, appreciating her informative and inclusive posts.
This course was a tremendous opportunity to learn from a highly experienced individual with a wealth of knowledge in this area.
It was refreshing to learn how to approach this topic from a strategic point of view and to learn so many practical, implementable ideas from week one.
I have no formal training in this area but the course was inclusive and flexible, with a wide range of businesses being represented. If you're working in the Health, Mental Health and Wellbeing space this course is a must.

Manneko Khasu - Occupational Health Specialist and Nurse
What I liked most about the course is that I never realized how important my role as occupational health was key in employee wellbeing, and how underutilized we have been.
Amy made me see that from a different perspective through her content and practicality and I believe going forward I’m gonna stand out from most of my peers in the industry in transforming occupational health and wellbeing.

Nuzhad Chagan - Co-Founder of LiWW & Global Wellbeing Lead
I had the opportunity to join Amy's last cohort to go through the training course around Workplace Wellbeing. I thought it was informative, easy to follow and gave you a great foundation if you are newly appointed to your role for workplace wellbeing and not had any previous experience or similar skill set.
Having been in the role as a Head of Health and Wellbeing Lead at IKEA, I know I felt the journey was a lonely one where everyone assumed you would know all the answers and would walk into knowing all the latest trends or what to focus on. This course enables you to establish a roadmap for yourself as to where your focuses will be as you are establishing wellbeing in your organisation. It will also carve out a path of what research you need to be tracking and what can help better explain your role to the leaders and wider networks in your organisation.
The best way to learn as well is not to do it in isolation so by having a cohort of like minded people you can form those bonds and use the opportunity learn and share between yourselves. It will also give you the chance to benchmark where you are on your learning curve for this role.
Amy as a course instructor has a very open and honest approach. I find that refreshing as driving this agenda in the workplace is no easy task. It can still be seen as fluffy stuff and by learning more of how you can build that business case and be prepared this enhances your chances of better delivery of your wellbeing strategy in your orgnanisation.
I would recommend you look into signing up and like all courses you take what you can from the time and expertise. On a level of expertise and experience, Amy is one of the pioneers in this space so you cannot go wrong there.
Wishing you the best of luck with your learning journey and Amy wishing you all the success and thank you for the learnings I have gained.
